Occupied.

The Occupy protest came to Toronto this weekend just as Occupy Wall Street was observing it’s one-month anniversary. © CBC / Natalie Kalata As this unique protest movement gains a global footing, we at Sugino Studio were reminded of a piece Eden Robbins did a few years back featuring some very small, but very powerful, protesters. Eden was hired as the photographer on this very cool project — for Moms Against Climate Change — brilliantly directed by Shelly Lewis. He [...]

Recipe for Success

Clearly, the folks at Smucker’s have perfected recipes for all-natural fruit spreads. We were reminded of this during Director Shin Sugino’s recent Smucker’s Simple Blends shoot for Leo Burnett, during which we came up with a recipe of our own.   Ingredients 1 client with a delicious, natural and new line of products 1 agency with a super-creative idea Several perfect strawberries Gorgeous, though challenging, lighting 1 amazing, die-hard crew 1 ultra-cool digital technique that swapped a fresh strawberry for [...]

I was impressed by the graphics and user-friendliness of the Macs back then, and still am everyday.” –Shin Sugino

Breaking News: Bigfoot Found!

Cryptozoologists, look no further! Bigfoot is alive and well at Sugino Studio — and it turns out he drives a Toyota! Photographer Eden Robbins shot the elusive beast for this year’s Toyota Red Tag Days event.     OK, not really. But we did recreate the tall, hairy beast for the ad. Our Sasquatch had the distinct odour of strong coffee and repeatedly broke into 80s alternative classics. To see the face behind the mask, check out the BTS footage… [...]

REUNITED, AND IT LOOKS SO GOOD!

Maybe it was your crates of LPs way back. Or your shelves of DVDs. Point is, it was once a collection, but after years of lending, it was spread far and wide. That’s essentially what happened to the legendary V-twin Vincent motorcycle, the Gunga Din. You can see the beautiful photographs of the bike by Todd McLellan, and read about the motorcycle’s history in the new issue of The Antique Motorcycle.   Todd McLellan: “Fifty years after being disassembled and [...]
